It is incredible that Chiang Mai - a city fiercely proud of its culture and traditions - has developed so rapidly in the past few years that it is able to support a publication which features between 60-100 events listings every month. Less than ten years ago art exhibitions occurred on a yearly basis and cultural events centred around small temple fairs; whereas today the city is dynamic, exciting and as you can see from all of the upcoming listings in this publication, eventful.

A total of 20,000 copies of CityNow! is printed every fortnight and are distributed to over 100 outlets – for free – throughout Chiang Mai and the north of Thailand as well as at major tourist resorts around the country such as Pattaya, Samui, Phuket, Bangkok and Kon Kaen.

We have selected major events organised by the government and municipal authorities as well as some less well-known, but certainly interesting, events put on either by non-government organisations or by the private sector in order for tourists and residents to be fully informed.
